50th Birthday Party Invite Wording

by Cathy
(Akron, OH, USA)

My brother is turning 50 and I would like to invite about 30 family and friends to a restaurant to celebrate. The guests would be paying their own tab. I am looking for wording for the invite. The party is being planned for April 11, 2015. A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Cathy

Invitations

Cathy,

Here are some phrases to consider: "Separate Checks Will Be Provided" or "In lieu of gifts separate checks will be provided"

The best method is to phone each guest instead of sending written invitations. That way, you can explain the plan so the guest understands what you are doing. It is considered better manners to make the phone call, so please take that into consideration.

Good luck.
