Dear GrandMum,

Any item that would thrill a 7 year old girl is a great gift! Many 7 year old girls love the American Girl Doll. If she already has this, there are many accessories that are lovely for gifts. In my experience, you cannot go wrong with any princess doll related items including books and DVD's since there are so many princess themed products from which to choose.

I do not know any girls this age who would be interested in any religion based gift unless it is in the form of a game or toy.

If you prefer to give a religious oriented gift, a nice cross necklace may also be something that your granddaughter would enjoy as her "first piece of jewelry".
