We go to a doctor and his staff insist on calling our home as early as 7:15 am to confirm appointsments. I was taught that calling someone before 8:00 am and after 9:00 pm was rude. Is this still the case?

Dear Susan,

I agree with you that this is rude! While doctors' offices begin work early in the morning, this is no excuse to call private homes before 8 AM. Polite times for calls vary a little, however calling anyone except close friends or family AT HOME before 8 AM is truly unacceptable. If it is a true emergency, then all rules are suspended!!
