Chrsitmas Gift

by David Wilkins

I bought a Christmas present for the father of my sister-in-law some weeks ago (he's in his 90s). Is it in good taste if I give it to my sister-in-law for Christmas as he died last weekend?

Decision om Gift
by: Ms P Etiquette

Hello David,

This is the very first time I've been asked this question. I doubt any etiquette rules apply. Perhaps common sense should prevail. Will your sister-in-law know this is a gift intended for her deceased father? Is this gift something your sister-in-law will enjoy? Do you usually give her Christmas gifts? Ask yourself these questions and then decide.

Good luck.
