Continue giving birthday money to son-in-law now that my daughter has died and he is in another relationship

I give money to all of my children and their spouses for their birthdays. My daughter passed away six years ago and my son-in-law is now in a relationship. We really don't keep in touch, except for seeing each other two times a year. Should I continue to send him money for his birthday?

Dear Susan

I suggest you send him a personal card without money on his next birthday. He will understand since there isn't a strong bond between you. I am assuming there aren't grandchildren from their marriage?
