Do you announce a birth at your wedding ?

Hello

My fiancee and I are getting married. It will be our 2nd for the both of us. I wanted this one to be simple. Just us.With that being said. We are having a reception and she would like to announce the birth of her grandson. I don't agree with this as it is taking away from OUR moment. Am I wrong to think like this?

please advise

thank you

Open Communication
by: Ms P Etiquette

Dear Groom,

I do not feel there is etiquette involved; this is a communication problem. You mention you wanted it to be simple. Did the bride feel the same way? Tell her how you feel and the two of you decide how to reach a decision . It would be a shame to ruin this for either one of you over a simple decision. Open communication is one of the most essential ingredients in a partnership of any kind.

However, it is cruical you do this BEFORE the wedding event. It is considered poor etiquette to appear uncomfortable or angry in front of your guests.

Good luck
