First Communion Gift

by Lee
(Indiana)

We received a combined invitation to our great niece's and her cousin's (not related to us) first communion. The party after church is at the cousin's house. We are not going to be able to attend as we already had plans to go out of town on the day of the first communion. If we would have been able to attend we would have given both girls a gift. My question is since we can't attend, we were going to send our great niece a gift to her house, do we still need to send one to her cousin as well?

Hello Lee,

Please send the cousin a card with a personal note of congratulations and a thank you for the invitation. Then send your great niece the gift you planned. I believe that is quite appropriate to the occasion.
