Give BFs daughters gifts?

Is it appropriate to give my boyfriend I have known via email just over a year and we live in different states his daughters that are a grown and I haven't met and will not see over Christmas a gift? Is that awkward? Am a giving person but don't want to step the bounds.

Gift giving is a personal option. You are never required to give or not to give a gift. In this case, where they are grown and you have not met them, there I no obligation on your part. Perhaps a card wishing the best of the season would suffice?
