How do I answer how many grandchildren I have

We have 9 living grandchildren and we lost one grandchild when he was 3 days old. What do we say when someone asks how many grandchildren we have? 9 or 10?

Dear Grandmother~

I believe the answer is entirely up to you. If you wish to acknowledge all 10 of your grandchildren simply reply that you have 9 grandchildren now plus one that you sadly lost at an early age. Or you can say you have 9 living grandchildren and 1 deceased. Of course, your own words are the best.
