how to observe parents wedding anniversary after father's death at daughter's engagement party

My youngest daughter is engaged and her fiancé's aunt is hosting an engagement party for them. The date of the engagement party is the same date as would be my mother and father-in-law's (daughter's paternal grandparents) 60th wedding anniversary. My mother-in-law is still living but my father-in-law past in 1998. When telling my mother-in-law of the party she said it will be their 60th anniversary so I know she is thinking about it. I acknowledge to her that I knew that was the date. My mother-in-law is a private person so I'm inclined to just maybe provide a card with a short note verses making a public announcement at the party. Would like to get thought and suggestions.

Follow your instincts on this. A public announcement may embarrass your mother-in-law and take the focus off the party's purpose- celebrating the honored couple.
