Kids on airplaines

I hope my story is not very common. I was traveling from Chicago to Houston and there was a small kid behind my seat. I understand that kids sometimes get cranky during long flights, but parents do what they can to keep them quiet. I was going to Houston to receive special medical treatment and I was feeling really bad already, and this kid was screaming and kicking my seat most of the time and his mother did nothing! I asked her to please do something about her kid and she said that the kid is expressing himself and she has to let him be! Can you believe that? I still can’t!
