There is no correct answer to your question. Any gift, whether cash or otherwise is acceptable if it is appropriate for the occasion. For example, you would not give a bottle of scotch to mark a christening but you might give a sterling cup, a lace bonnet or a check for whatever amount you decide. What I am saying is gifts are personal. They come from the heart and the generosity of the giver. You cannot make a mistake if you are giving purely to give and not to do what you think you should. I am certain anything you give to commemorate this special day will be well received.
