No birthday card in the mail from daughter and grandchildren

How do I ask my daughter if she and my grandkids sent a birthday card in the mail? I received a text. Is that the norm this day and age?

Cards & Texting
by: Ms P Etiquette

Judy,

The short answer is you don't ask. It is poor etiquette to inquiry about gifts, whether cards or boxed. Texting is the norm for some these days. Say thank you and be grateful they remembered your special day!
