Party gifts

I am attending a party for which the invitation states, "no gifts please." It sounds ridiculous to ask but should I bring a small token of the celebration of my friends 40th birthday?

Your Presence is Present Enough
by: Miss P Manners

This is a wonderful question! And I have the solution. When you receive an invitation that requests you not bring gifts, you are really being asked to come help celebrate and enjoy yourself. In other words, your presence at the event is the gift. However, bringing a card with a personal note for the celebrant is always welcome and gives you the opportunity to express your warm wishes on the occasion.

I hope you have a great time!
