Wedding Gift

by Sarah
(Tampa, Fl, USA)

I have friends that got married....invited no family/friends. The wedding was at a local baseball park with a notary conducting the ceremony - she wore crop pants, t-shirt and slide on sandals, the bride wore crop stretch pants and a t-shirt and tennis shoes, the groom wore military boots, camo pants, a racing shirt with auto advertisements all over it and a dale Earhardt Jr. baseball cap - it seemed like they didn't take it as a serious endeavor...Since they didn't invite anyone....Should a gift be given to them?...

Gift for the Wedding
by: Ms P Etiquette

Hello Sarah,

I do not think their wedding attire is a good guide to gift giving. If you wish to help them celebrate their new lives together, a thoughtful gift is always nice. Or a personal card with sincere wishes for a happy life together is also acceptable.
