I am attending a dance with a boy that asked me. Is it appropriate to dance with another boy that has an interest in me that my date knows about?

Dear Shannon,

Good manners dictate we conduct ourselves in a way that does not distress our host, who in this case the boy with whom you are going to the dance. If you feel your date will be uncomfortable in the situation you described, perhaps it is better to decline the dance invitation.

However, this depends entirely upon your personal situation. I see nothing wrong with a young girl dancing with a boy who is not her date as long as her date agrees. It is polite to ask, "do you mind" before walking away from your date with another boy.
