Funeral etiquette

Should I put my son's girlfriend name on the sympathy card I'm sending to the funeral? She does not know the deceased and will not be attending the funeral. I have known the deceased all my life. My son has been with his girlfriend 1 year. Thank you !

Sympathy Expression
by: Ms P Etiquette

Melissa,

If you think the girlfriend's name on the card will bring comfort to the bereaved include her name. However, since she doesn't know those involved, perhaps it would be better form to leave it off. The purpose of any expression of sympathy is to bring some solace to the recipient. Thanks for your interesting question.
