Grandparents 50th anniversary gift?

by Mich
(Canada)

Dear Ms. Practical Etiquette/Manners,

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 6 months. I have met his family and he has met mine. I have only met his family including the grandparents once. We got along very well. He invited me to his grandparents 50th wedding anniversary this coming mid-August. I am wondering what I should bring with regards to gifts? I am 20 years old and I am a student so I have a small-medium price range.

Thank you in advance,

Michelle

Dear Michelle,

It is entirely appropriate for you to bring a token gift, one that is affordable but shows that you are honoring their 50 years of marriage. Because of your casual association with them at this time, anything more is not necessary.
