Grown kids being baptized

by Christine
(Brooklyn ny usa)

My husbands ex wife just decided out of no where that shes going to baptize their children (12 & 10)12 yo doesnt really want to and 10 yo dont care either way. Both parents were raised Catholic and they both chose not to have them baptized as infants. My husband does not mind if the children are happy. My question is do we need to give them a gift? We will be attending church but not party ( families do not get along) or should we do something special for them on our time?

Card Gifting
by: Ms P Etiquette

Hello Christine,

Under these circumstances it would be appropriate to give a card to each celebrant. Gifts are a personal choice and one you have to decide for yourself. Whether you mark the event with gifts is your choice, not your obligation.
