Response to uninvited wedding guests

My daughter is having a destination wedding, very small 120 guests at most. What to say to relatives that were not invited and are upset?

Hello Cindy,

This situation is quite common unless a family has unlimited resources and the bride and groom wish to invite everyone they have ever met! You will never please everyone. Please be honest.

Tell them the choice was for a small wedding with 2 families had relatives to include, so most relatives and friends understood their list was limited. Tell them you wish you could have included them and you know the wedding would have been more enjoyable had they been able to attend.

By the way, those who have let you know they are upset are showing off their poor manners.

Good luck,
Ms. Practical Etiquette
