My mother passed away this past summer. For the past several years, my parents have sent out a Holiday Card with photos of the family (mom, dad, kids and grandkids) and a brief update on the past year. My dad would still like to send cards - and even talked of including a picture of my mother in the card - but this seems inappropriate and potentially upsetting for others. I suggested he send tasteful cards without any photos/updates - just a simple holiday wish...and then he can include a brief, handwritten "thanks for all of your support this year" message. Or perhaps he just doesn't send cards at all?
