Wedding Happenings

At great nephew wedding rehearsal dinner, all out of town guests were invited. Tables were round, seating about10 people. At the bride & groom table Sat the third cousin of groom with husband & the great aunt & husband. I thought this was not correct, as bride had sisters way in back & closer relatives attending who may have wanted to sit with bride or at least closer. What is your opinion?

2nd Question: Great aunt took microphone from hired band singer & sang 2or 3 Aretha Franklin songs (off key). Your opinion?

Hello Carla,

Well, it sounds like quite an event! All weddings hit glitches. The bride and groom get married anyway, which is the purpose of the gathering. Do you agree?

Seating at a wedding is usually planned by the bride and her mother/father with consultation with the groom and his family. Whether or not the seating was correct, the seating chart has that answer. Now, if these not so related guests crashed the wedding table that is unacceptable.

There seems to be one Aretha impersonator at a lot of weddings! It is poor manners to take over the entertainment, whether the voice is good or not. Shame on Great Auntie! But it happens often! How much champaign did she enjoy before her performance?!

Thank you for this very interesting question, Carla.
