Gifts for the graduate

My son graduated from high school. He attended public school for 11 years and finished his diploma though on-line classes. He finished all the requirements months ahead of his regular term.

He never had a formal graduation ceremony. Are any gifts expected from friends or family?

Expecting Gifts
by: Ms P Etiquette

Dear Grad's Mom~

One should not "expect" gifts under any circumstances. If you want to let family and friends know about your son's accomplishment, send out announcement cards. Or better, throw him a celebratory party! Whether or not the recipients respond with gifts is strictly up to them. This way you are honoring your son and his hard work. Anything others do will be icing on the cake.

Congratulations to your son.
