Asking someone that lives out of town to be a godfather

Should we plan the christening based on a date that is convient for us or convient foe the godfather since he lives far away and needs to travel by plane?

Hello Eddie~

Good manners would suggest you ask the godfather for several dates convenient for him and then pick one of those. If you care enough to ask him to take on the job of godfather, holding the christening on a day when he can be there seems important.
