Child birthday party r.s.v.p.

My son's birthday party is this weekend and I have not yet heard from all of those invited. He wanted to invite the entire class so I do not know all of the parents personally. Is it considered rude to assume those who did not respond are not coming and continue with my party planning or am I to contact them to request a reply?

You do not mention your son's age so I am assuming he is in elementary school. While there is nothing wrong with contacting invited guests for a reply to your invitation, it may not be necessary. Simply plan for a percentage of the invited to attend in order to be prepared. Probably 70% is an average. If you are having something formal that requires an exact count, then by all means, call for a response.

Have a great party for the birthday boy!
