co-hosted First Communion party

by Jenny
(Orange, CA)

I have been invited to a first communion party for 2 children that is co-hosted by each child's mother. I am friends with the 1 mother and an acquaintance of the other mother. I do not know the other mother's child. Should I bring a gift for each child? Should the gifts be equal in value?

A Gift for Each ...
by: Ms P Etiquette

Dear Jenny,

There is a simple way to solve this while making two children happy. Bring a gift for each child. For the child you do know, make the gift more personal, something you know will please him/her. For the second child you may bring a more generic gift that can be less expensive if you wish.

Practical etiquette requires that, in every situation, one strive to make everyone around them feel comfortable and valued.

I do hope you enjoy the party.

Kind regards,

Ms Practical Etiquette
