Do I have to call or wait for people to call me when I am visiting another town??

by Genny

I have a friend who just arrive from overseas. My friend's sister always thinks that every friend has to call the visiting sister to say HI. But I insist that the visiting sister is the one who has to call people to say HI and let them know she is in town.

Who is correct? Why? I would appreciate your explanation.

Hello Genny,

Practically speaking, both are the correct answers. Your visiting friends may let her friends know she is in town, especially if she wishes to see or chat with them.

It is also very kind for a friend to call the visitor, welcoming her to town.

I hope this helps!
