Dear Host,

Please decide for yourself how many guests you can afford, give your friend a financial limit and ask she either keep it to that number or perhaps, find a co-host. This is certainly accepted behavior. In fact, this should have been established at the start. But it’s better to have this discussion now than to hold a resentment later.
