long/short dresses

for a 7:30 small wedding does the MOH and BM need to wear long dresses? If they wear short could the mother of bride and groom wear short?

groom doesn 't want to wear tux but the wedding is at 7:30, would shirt and tie be Ok?

Wedding to be held in a small 120 venue

Dear Diane~

If this is not a formal affair and held in the early evening, a long dress is not required. Also many men prefer a dark suite with white shirt and tied instead of a dinner jacket.


However, the dress should be at least mid knee to mid calf length. Anything shorter is inappropriate. The mothers of the bride and groom can dress accordingly.
