proper ways to show interest

by DEBRA
(St. Louis)

I recently went on a first meeting with a gentleman, in which I thought went well. Conversation and company was good.

After meeting I texted him and said thank you and that I enjoyed meeting him. 12 hours later he said the same to me.

I then proceeded to let him know that I would enjoy the opportunity to get to do it again. NO Answer. I didn't mean to put him on the spot. Should I just let it go?

I thought about messaging (email) him to let him know that I was not trying to put him on the spot to ask me out again, it was simply to let him know that I would enjoy the opportunity to do it again.. I thought the conversation and the company went well.

I realize we have preconceived notions about what we want or don't want in a mate. But, what about friends or making new friendships? I think we are to quick to "judge" based on CHEMISTRY. PLEASE HELP!! I hate the ignoring and pretending that it never happened.

Showing Interest
by: Ms P Etiquette

Dear Confused Debra,

Based on what you explain in your inquiry, I advise you not to contact him again. To do so would be very poor manners and will not help you. You cannot force someone to participate if they don't want to.

I cannot answer your thought provoking question regarding "Chemistry" but I do agree that judging others too quickly can cause us to miss some of the best things in life!
