should fiances ex call his family aunt, uncle....

by Donna

My fiances ex keeps referring to HIS family members as her grandpa, cousin, aunt, uncle...etc and she is remarried now. What would be apprpriate if any response? They have 2 daughters together and she just texted him her condolences on the passing of uncle Eddie. I findit unnerving as she also did it when his grandpa passed and they aren't married anymore. She still refers to his aunt as aunt Dina and calls the cousins cousin john and so forth. Is there a nice way to tell her to stop?

Hello Donna,

My question to you is, does your fiancé object to this? Many couples who separate/divorce keep close ties with the in laws they loved. If your fiancé wants her to stop, he needs to ask her himself. However, if his family still care for her, that may be hurtful to others.

However, you have no role in this and must not interfere. To do so would truly be poor manners.
