My sons both have girlfriends this christmas should I as the boys mother buy the girls gifts from me and my husband?

Gift giving, even at Christmas, is a personal choice, not a requirement. You are under no obligation to give gifts to your sons' girlfriends. At the same time, if you so desire, you most certainly can give them a gift if that is your wish. As an alternative, you can simply give them a card wishing them the joy of the season.
