Tastefully RSVP Seeker not in Canteen IL

I am having a baby shower for my daughter, the venue a restaurant. I have decided on a served luncheon to accommodate different tastes (vegetarian, etc.) with a choice between (3) different meals. It's not an elaborate affair.

Is it acceptable etiquette to have only guests who will attend RSVP by phone with their choice of meal? And if so, any suggestions on proper wording of such in invitations?

Dear Grandmother-to-Be,

You may ask your invitees who plan to attend to RSVP. Having them telephone you with their response is acceptable. Your invitation may explain there is a meal choice to be decided ahead of time. For example, "Because we are serving a seated luncheon with a choice of entrees, please RSVP before (date) by phone only if you plan to attend.

Good luck.
