A Seemingly New Age Issue ...

Dear Future Bride,

This is a new question involving Facebook! But I am sure others have had the same situation.

Ah ... what to do?

You have two choices. The first is to include them on your guest list.

The second is to contact them to tell them something like - you have cut back on the number of guests and cannot include them, but you wanted to tell them personally that you wish they could attend. Or another reason that will not hurt their feelings or make them uncomfortable.

Remember, etiquette is mainly behaving in a way that puts others at ease. That is why the most gracious of hosts always seems interested in a guest's or acquaintenance's experience.
